Apple's aim with Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Apple on Monday released a Safari Technology Preview update with a nice addition for 2021 MacBook Pro users, as the new version enables 120Hz scrolling for ProMotion displays. Plus, the browser will remember how much you zoom in with the Web Inspector and use that level across each session. Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced in March 2016. And developers can now run full-text searches on Web Workers and XMLHttpRequests (XHRs), too. Apple said it has “mproved performance dramatically in the Timelines tab when recording pages with a lot of rapid activity and for long recordings,” for one thing. The Web Inspector tool is also getting more powerful with today’s release. Safari’s update today includes changes in the way it works. ![]() For example, Apple said it has reduced “the time to display for some pages - allowing a short page header to render immediately before other content populates later.” And there are bug fixes - for example, there is no longer compositing for WebGL canvases once the size has been adjusted. Apple has begun seeding the third update to its Safari Technology Preview, iOS 9.3.2 public beta 3, and OS X 10.11.5 developer beta 3.
